Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan hold a phone conversation

On April 4, 2020, at the initiative of the Turkmen side, a phone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tileuberdi, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

The sides discussed the current COVID-19 global pandemic. It was noted that it is important to ensure high-quality and uninterrupted functioning of the checkpoints on the Kazakh-Turkmen border, as well as optimize the flow of freight vehicles and accelerate the process of their clearance at the border.

Special focus was paid to the railway cargo operations from Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan and transit through its territory.
