Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Paid a Working Visit to Turkey

Ankara, May 30, 2022 – Within the framework of the working visit to the Republic of Turkey Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Adil Tursunov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Sedat Onal.

During the meeting the parties noted the importance of implementation of the arrangements  following the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkey on May 10-11, 2022 and the adoption of the Joint Statement on Enhanced Strategic Partnership between two countries.

The parties discussed the issues of institutional development and the upcoming launch of the transformation process of CICA.

Underlining the timeliness of this step in light of current developments in international relations, Turkish side reaffirmed its political support for CICA’s transformation into a full-fledged international organization. In addition, diplomats exchanged their views regarding the preparations for the CICA Summit in October 2022 and its substantive fulfillment.

The interlocutors discussed the schedule of upcoming high-level events and agreed to maintain close contacts on current issues of bilateral and multilateral agenda of Kazakh-Turkish cooperation.
