On the Impact of Sanctions on the Banking Sector of Kazakhstan  

Nur-Sultan, April 8, 2022 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the US Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the assistance of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, held the Kazakh-American online consultations on sanctions issues for entrepreneurs and representatives of the banking sector of Kazakhstan, as well as foreign companies with branches in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event is aimed at minimizing the unintended consequences of the U.S. sanctions for the activities of Kazakh businesses and commercial banks as well as the negative impact on foreign trade.

American diplomats provided in-detail explanations on the imposed U.S. sanctions, the specifics of doing business and transactions with partners under the sanctions regime.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation to mitigate their impact on the economy of Kazakhstan.
