The Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the book "Kazakhstan Diplomacy: 25 Years in the Service of Peace and Development", timed to coincide with the anniversary of Kazakhstan's foreign policy service.
The book begins with a welcoming address of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, which reveals the historical significance of the Decree of the Head of State on the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of independent Kazakhstan, dated July 2, 1992.
"This was an important act, not only on the way toward institutionalizing the foreign policy of the new country on the world's political map, but also in building our statehood. After a quarter of a century, we can firmly state that domestic diplomacy has taken place and is dynamically developing, making a significant contribution to the successes of our state. In such a short period of time, a purposeful and painstaking work was carried out to build friendly and constructive relations with our closest neighbors and the entire world community. Today, Kazakhstan is a responsible and authoritative participant in regional and global processes”, the President noted in his article.
The “Kazakhstan Diplomacy: 25 Years in the Service of Peace and Development" book contains a review of current Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Abdrakhmanov on activities of the foreign policy agency at the present stage. The ministers of foreign affairs of independent Kazakhstan - Akmaral Arystanbekova, Tuleutai Suleimenov, Kanat Saudabayev, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, Yerlan Idrissov, Marat Tazhin and Yerzhan Kazykhanov shared some unique memories and edifications with the new generation of diplomats.
Each of the articles reflects a unique stage in the formation and development of Kazakhstan's foreign policy, including the establishment of the first diplomatic relations with foreign countries, joining the UN, nuclear disarmament, delimitation of the state border, convening the CICMA and the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, chairmanship in the OSCE, OIC and other international organizations, active participation in the work of the CIS, EAEU, CSTO and SCO, the Astana process on Syria, and other important events.
"Our generation has a great fortune to live and work at an unusual time - in the era of the dawn of the Kazakh statehood, where domestic foreign policy is subordinated to high interests. The global diplomacy of President Nursultan Nazarbayev was not just an important attribute of the country's true independence, but also a key tool for ensuring its security, development and prosperity, strengthening international peace and cooperation", Kairat Abdrakhmanov, the head of the foreign ministry, said in his review.
The book also presents articles of scientists and employees of the MFA of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the diplomatic practice of the Kazakh Khanate, Kazakh diplomats of the Soviet period, features of diplomacy in the digital age.
The publication contains extensive photographic material about the history of Kazakhstan's diplomacy and colorful infographics.
In the near future the book will be available in all major libraries and higher educational institutions of the country. The book will be interesting for everyone who is not indifferent to the issues of Kazakhstan's foreign policy.
