Kazakhstan and the Philippines discussed topical issues on the international agenda

Nur-Sultan, January 14, 2021 – Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev met with Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and International Economic Relations of the Philippines Lourdes Yparraguirre via videoconference.

The partied exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda, as well as discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation within the framework of the United Nations.

In particular, the diplomats noted the steady development of relations between the two countries, including through the provision of mutual support within the framework of multilateral platforms.

For his part, Mr. Ashikbayev stressed that the development of relations with the countries of the Pacific region, including the Philippines, occupies an important place in Kazakhstan's foreign policy.
