Official statement by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi on the situation in Kyrgyz Republic

Kazakhstan approves the emerging stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan.

Considering the events in the neighboring state are an exclusively domestic matter, we call on the newly formed government to focus its efforts on restoring stability, law and order, consolidating society and maintaining conditions for economic development in the current difficult political situation.

We express hope that all political forces of the country will place the most effort to find well-considered and constructive solutions with adherence to the standards and regulations of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, which will afford the opportunity to overcome the crisis situation with dignity.

Our countries are linked by historic ties of fraternal and good-neighborly relations, which have always been based on mutual assistance and support in challenging times. We are interested in a politically stable and economically prosperous Kyrgyzstan and in continuing mutually beneficial cooperation in the spirit of the Treaty of Eternal Friendship of April 8, 1997 and on Allied Relations of December 25, 2003.
