About the death of miners in the Karaganda region

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in the United States of America received with deep sorrow the news of the death of people as a result of a fire at a mine in the Karaganda region.

We express our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased and share with them the bitterness of this irreplaceable loss. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

Due to the death of the miners in the Karaganda region, October 29, 2023, has been declared a Day of National Mourning in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Embassy will have the book of condolences opened on October 30, from 10 am till 6pm at Sherman House, 1401 16th St NW, Washington, DC. Condolence letters can also be conveyed by an email at washington@mfa.kz
