Enhancing Nuclear Security Cooperation

On June 11, 2021, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United States had a meeting with Laura Holgate, Vice-President of the Nuclear Threat Initiative.

During the meeting, parties discussed the current cooperation in nuclear security, strengthening of the nuclear non-proliferation regime and peaceful use of nuclear energy, as well as the initiative on the establishment of the International Agency for Biological Safety proposed by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

NTI Vice-president has praised Kazakhstan`s contribution to global and regional security, as well as extended hope for continuing cooperation.
