Ambassador of Kazakhstan held meeting with the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania

Vilnius, April 30, 2024 – Ambassador Timur Urazaev at a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania Julius Skackauskas discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries in the transport and logistics industry.

The interlocutors reviewed the schedule and agenda of joint events for the current year, including meetings of the Kazakh-Lithuanian Working Group on Cooperation in the Field of Transport. The progress in coordinating draft bilateral documents in the transport and logistics sector and the timing of their signing were also reviewed.

The Ambassador spoke in detail about the work being carried out by the Government of Kazakhstan to develop transport infrastructure, including in the direction of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

Julius Skackauskas expressed Lithuania's interest in increasing the volume of cargo transportation through TITR. He noted that the entry last year of the Lithuanian national railway company “LTG Cargo” into the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” opens up new opportunities for increasing the volume of cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and Lithuania.
