Vilnius, March 17, 2023 - The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Timur Urazayev held a briefing for the Lithuanian media on the upcoming elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament and maslikhats.
T.Urazaev told about the events of last year, which served as a catalyst for political and economic changes in our country, new provisions of the electoral legislation of Kazakhstan and some aspects of the electoral campaign.
Ruslanas Irzikevicius, Editor-in-chief of the “Lithuanian Tribune” newspaper, noted that Kazakhstan is moving along a progressive path and called on Lithuanian colleagues to support democratic processes in the country. He emphasized that the progressive reforms in Kazakhstan differ in their logical and evolutionary sequence and the coming to power of new political forces will largely determine in which direction our country will move further. In his opinion, Lithuanian partners are witnessing the formation of a "New Kazakhstan" - with a "Hearing State" and a fair social structure.
The journalists received answers to their questions about the preliminary voting forecasts and election platforms of political parties.
At the end of the briefing, the Ambassador talked about topical issues of Kazakh-Lithuanian cooperation in various fields, the results of cooperation between the two countries in 2022 and further plans to build bilateral ties.
