Political modernization in Kazakhstan was discussed in Siauliai, northern capital of Lithuania

Siauliai (Šiauliai), November 4, 2022 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan Viktor Temirbayev, as part of a working trip to Šiauliai, met with Artur Vysockas, the mayor of the city. The parties discussed the prospects for interregional cooperation, issues of expanding trade and economic ties and holding joint cultural events.

Kazakh diplomat informed the mayor about the political and socio-economic reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Particular attention was paid to the program of comprehensive modernization of the political system, aimed at building a Just Kazakhstan. Artur Vysockas noted the pragmatic foreign and domestic policy pursued by the leadership of Kazakhstan and wished successful presidential elections.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to open an honorary consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Šiauliai.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan also held a meeting with business circles at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the city, during which he presented the investment potential of Kazakhstan, spoke about the benefits of doing business in our country.             

Siauliai (Šiauliai) (derived from the Lithuanian word “Saulė” - sun) is the fourth largest city in Lithuania, a major industrial and cultural center.
