State reception on the occasion of the Republic Day was held in Lithuania

Vilnius, October 25, 22 – State reception was held at the Palace of the Rulers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania on the occasion of Republic Day and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Lithuania.

The solemn event was attended by deputies of the Seimas, representatives of the political establishment of Lithuania, the diplomatic corps, academic and scientific circles, heads of public organizations, businessmen, media, cultural and sports figures, and representatives of the Kazakhstani diaspora and students.

In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Viktor Temirbayev spoke about the implementation of political and economic reforms in our country, building a «Just and Fair Kazakhstan» and the upcoming presidential elections. The guests of the evening were informed about the results of major international events held this year, including the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and The Sixth Summit of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA).

The Kazakh diplomat congratulated the guests on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Lithuania and noted the main trends in the development of bilateral ties.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis in his congratulatory message highly appreciated the level of Kazakh-Lithuanian relations and expressed confidence that the people of the two countries would continue to strengthen cooperation based on friendship and mutual respect.

The guests of the banquet enjoyed the classical music of famous Kazakh composers – melodies of the Great Steppe, performed by the singers of the Kazakh State Philharmonic named after Zhambyl. Artists of the State Academic Dance Theater of the Republic of Kazakhstan performed excerpts from the play “Kyz Zhibek” and famous ballet parts of world classics.

The guests of the banquet were traditionally presented with dishes of the Kazakh national cuisine and shown videos demonstrating the tourism potential of Kazakhstan.
