A meeting of Kazakh and Lithuanian parliamentarians took place

Deputy Chair of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Olga Perepechina met with Deputy Chairman of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Jonas Jarutis.

In the course of the talks, Olga Perepechina noted that Kazakhstan had reached a new historic milestone in its development and that, on the initiative of the Head of State, comprehensive and systemic reforms are taking place in all areas. One of the main directions lies in further democratization of the domestic political system, and a large package of laws has already been adopted for this purpose, and this work will be continued, the Vice-Speaker stated.

The parties stressed the importance of the development of inter-parliamentary relations based on the dialogue of friendship groups that operate in the Parliaments of Kazakhstan and Lithuania.

“We strongly support the activity of the friendship groups in the Parliaments of Lithuania and Kazakhstan, and we think that their activities give a significant impetus to the further expansion of our inter-parliamentary relations. Moreover, in the coming period, we could conduct several joint events aimed at strengthening working contacts and studying the experience of parliamentary activity, including the practice of drafting and adopting legislative acts,” Olga Perepechina said during the talk.

Olga Perepechina stated that in these and other issues of bilateral cooperation between our states, the Kazakh Senate is ready to provide all necessary assistance in further bolstering relations between Kazakhstan and Lithuania.
