27 May 2026, Vilnius – Ambassador of Kazakhstan Timur Urazayev held a meeting with the leadership of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK) and members of the Lithuanian part of the Kazakhstan-Lithuania Business Council, which includes some of Lithuania’s largest transport and logistics companies. Among them were representatives of “Girteka Group”, “Autopaslauga”, “MC Mobility Consultants”, “Bunasta”, “TL Nika Group”, “Vilteda”, “TM Trade LT” and others.
The meeting was attended by President of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists Vidmantas Janulevičius and Chairman of the Lithuanian part of the Business Council Romas Austinskas.
The agenda included discussions on the current state and prospects of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Lithuania, existing challenges in the transport and logistics sector, opportunities for industrial cooperation, as well as prospects for cooperation in digitalization and artificial intelligence.
Particular attention was paid to the current development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR / Middle Corridor) and the involvement of Lithuanian businesses in the Eurasian transport connectivity system. Lithuanian partners were informed, in particular, about the modernization of TITR infrastructure, expansion of its maritime segment and digitalization of transport procedures.
Participants of the meeting noted that cargo transportation volumes along the TITR have increased more than fivefold over the past five years, reflecting the growing role of the route in ensuring resilient supply chains between Asia and Europe.
The parties also discussed practical aspects of international transportation and possible solutions to existing cross-border challenges.
V.Janulevičius expressed the interest of Lithuanian businesses in possible participation in Kazakhstan’s industrial processing projects, including in the field of critical materials, and also emphasized the importance of improving state regulation mechanisms in the areas of transport and cargo transit in order to maintain sustainable conditions for the further development of bilateral cooperation.
R.Austinskas confirmed the continued interest of Lithuanian businesses in cooperation with Kazakh partners. Representatives of Lithuanian companies participating in the meeting also raised a number of issues requiring further discussion at the intergovernmental level in order to maintain stable cargo transportation dynamics and further develop transport and logistics cooperation.
The Embassy presented up-to-date information on investment projects in Kazakhstan in the field of industrial processing, including emerging areas related to critical materials and rare earth elements. Particular attention was given to the state policy aimed at expanding geological exploration activities and strengthening industrial capacities.
Special focus was also placed on the development of Kazakhstan’s digital economy and the role of artificial intelligence. Given that Kazakhstan’s IT services exports exceeded USD 1 billion in 2025, Lithuanian businesses were invited to explore opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the international artificial intelligence center “Alem.AI”.
The participants confirmed their mutual interest in maintaining practical cooperation and continuing regular exchanges of views and information on the discussed areas.
