The Embassy of Kazakhstan Participated in Nauryz Celebrations in Austria

Vienna, April 8, 2025 – At the initiative of the Viennese diplomatic magazine "Society," a festive celebration of Nauryz, the holiday of spring and renewal, took place with the participation of 11 diplomatic missions accredited in Vienna. Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan showcased their cultures and traditions.

The event became a vibrant cultural occasion uniting representatives from various countries and highlighting the rich traditions of nations celebrating Nauryz. Guests enjoyed folk music, national cuisines, and had the opportunity to explore traditional costumes and decorative arts that captured the region's unique spirit and charm.

In his speech, Kazakhstan's Ambassador Mukhtar Tileuberdi elaborated on Kazakhstan's new celebration format, "Nauryznama," where each day is thematically dedicated to showcasing the historical, cultural, and traditional wealth of the Kazakh people. This initiative, introduced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in 2024, has given the celebration a renewed meaning and reinforced national unity.

Kazakhstan’s stand attracted considerable interest from visitors. The Embassy offered national dishes and displayed an exhibition highlighting the symbolism of Nauryz as a celebration of renewal, harmony, and goodwill. Participants appreciated the warm atmosphere created by Kazakhstan and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the country’s cultural heritage.
