Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the OSCE to strengthen the fight against trafficking in human beings

Vienna, 23 February 2024 – The Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan in Vienna, H.E. Mr. Mukhtar Tileuberdi, met with the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Dr. Kari Johnstone.

The Kazakh diplomat noted that the issue of combating slavery and human trafficking is under the special control of the country's leadership. Kazakhstan attaches great importance to co-operation with international organisations in this field, including within the OSCE.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of interaction between Kazakhstan and the Office of the OSCE Special Representative, in particular in the field of improving legislation and strengthening the capacity of law enforcement agencies in this area.
