Vienna, 26 September 2022 - During the OSCE Permanent Council meeting, the Kazakhstan delegation informed the participating States of the Organization about holding early presidential elections on 20 November 2022.
It was noted that these elections launched a new electoral cycle, leading to a reboot of the political system in the country.
In the future, this will allow Kazakhstan to focus on solving long-term tasks to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve the citizens' welfare and quality of life.
The representative of Kazakhstan informed the meeting participants in detail about introducing a one-time 7-year presidential term without the right to re-election, which will be a continuation of the constitutional reform aimed at demonopolizing the presidential power.
The state will strictly adhere to the principle of a "strong President - an influential Parliament - an accountable Government."
In addition, foreign diplomats were informed about the VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which was attended by Pope Francis, who emphasized the fundamental role of Kazakhstan in promoting interethnic and interreligious dialogue.
