The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Kairat Umarov visits IAEA Nuclear Application laboratories in Seibersdorf

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria and Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Kairat Umarov visited the IAEA Nuclear Applications Laboratories in Seibersdorf, which focus on such issues as food and agriculture, human health, environmental monitoring and assessment, as well as the use of nuclear analytical instrumentation.

During the tour of the laboratories, the Ambassador got acquainted with cutting-edge research and technologies in the field of strengthening food security and resilience to climate change, as well as ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in cancer treatment and supporting radiation dosimetry by providing calibration and audit services worldwide.

The parties also discussed biosafety issues, environmental remediation and effective response to global challenges, including COVID-19.
