On October 22, 2025, in the Vatican the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Holy See Timur Primbetov met with the Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue of the Holy See Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad.
During the meeting the parties held a substantive exchange of views on current issues of bilateral cooperation and the international agenda.
It was noted that this year has seen a significant increase in the interaction between Kazakhstan’s academic institutions and the Apostolic Archive and Library, while cooperation in the field of child healthcare has gained new momentum.
Cardinal G. Koovakad highly praised Kazakhstan’s commitment to peace, emphasizing that the country’s leadership efforts in promoting interreligious and interfaith dialogue are of great importance to the entire world. The unique role of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions was particularly underlined.
In this context the parties paid special attention to discussing the possibility of organizing by the end of 2025 a Round Table in the Vatican with the participation of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue. The event is expected to serve as an important platform for deepening and strengthening practical cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting the interlocutors agreed to continue regular contacts and exchanges of views on the full range of bilateral interaction.
