In addition, during the meeting, an exchange of views and experiences took place with representatives of Member States and partners of the OECD and international organizations.

Kazakhstan’s Bureau of National Statistics intends to continue its comprehensive cooperation with the OECD’s Secretariat and the Member States seeking further enhancement of statistical policy and practices.

The Recommendation on Good Statistical Practice is the OECD’s first legal instrument concerning statistics and represents a detailed blueprint for a sound and credible national statistical system. It reflects the fact that the quality of statistics is fundamental for the quality of evidence-based analytical work of the Organization and for the quality of statistical publications and databases produced by the OECD. The Recommendation also provides a benchmark against which the national statistical system of countries can be assessed, and constitutes a tool for self-assessment of non-Members which can facilitate needed improvements in their national statistical system.
