The issue of opening a direct flight "Almaty - Ulaanbaatar" is under active consideration

On February 20, 2020, Ambassador Zh.Adilbaev met with B.Enkh-Amgalan, a member of the Great State Khural, Minister of Roads and Transportation Development of Mongolia. An exchange of views took place on the issues of deepening comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the field of air service, in the automobile and railway spheres.

In particular, there were discussed the resumption of international passenger traffic along the Almaty-Ulgii route, accelerating the opening of air connections between Ulaanbaatar-Almaty, introducing Kazakhstan’s railway products and lubricants on the domestic market of Mongolia, and selling air cargo between the two countries.

The Mongolian side was informed about introducing the “Open Sky” regime at the airports of 11 cities of Kazakhstan from November 1, 2019, which will contribute to the development of the freight market of the two countries, increase in the transport potential and promotion of tourism.

At the same time, the Parties exchanged views on the maximum use in the future of the shortest highway between Kazakhstan and Mongolia.
