Kazakhstan’s Tourism Potential was Presented in Bangkok

Bangkok, November 27, 2024 – The roundtable “Unlocking Kazakhstan: The Future of Travel Destinations” was held, dedicated to promoting Kazakhstan's tourism potential. The event was attended by representatives of leading tourism companies and prominent media outlets from Thailand.

During the event, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Thailand, Arman Issetov, emphasized that Kazakhstan continues to grow in popularity among international tourists. In 2023, the country welcomed over 9 million visitors, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous year. The active development of tourism infrastructure, simplification of visa procedures, and expansion of direct flights are playing a key role in improving Kazakhstan’s accessibility for travelers.

“Kazakhstan and Thailand are strengthening their tourism ties through improved transportation accessibility. The national carrier, Air Astana, operates 19 regular flights a week between Almaty and Bangkok, as well as between Almaty and Phuket,” noted Arman Issetov.

Additionally, the event featured a masterclass on preparing the traditional Kazakh dish - baursaks. Participants not only learned the secrets of making Kazakh bread but also delved into Kazakhstan’s culture and culinary traditions.

In general, Kazakhstan is actively developing its tourism potential, and strengthening ties with Thailand is an important step in creating a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership in the tourism sector.
