Ambassador of Kazakhstan met with Healthcare Minister of Israel

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Burshakov met with the Minister of Health of Israel Yuliy Edelstein.

Parties have discussed priority directions for further development of Kazakh-Israeli cooperation in the field of healthcare and medicine.

They have talked about the measures being taken in Kazakhstan and Israel to counter the spread of coronavirus.

The Ambassador and the Minister have voiced their readiness to take practical steps in the field of cooperation between Ministries of Health of both countries in the framework of the draft Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Health of the State of Israel in the field of health and medicine for 2019-2024. Currently both countries discuss the draft.

The Ambassador has presented to the Minister main topics of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State of the Nation Address “Kazakhstan in a new reality: time for action”, which is designed to determine the main directions for further anti-crisis development of the state and ensuring the welfare of society, including the further development of the domestic healthcare system.

The diplomat expressed gratitude to the Israeli side for the humanitarian aid provided through MASHAV and individual companies, as well as for consultations of the leading Israeli medical centers for doctors from Kazakhstan via a number of video conferences held in March-May this year.

Summing up the meeting sides have reached an agreement to continue holding video conferences between experts in the field of healthcare and medicine to exchange best practices in combating coronavirus, as well as monitoring the sanitary and epidemiological surveillance system.

At the same time, the parties agreed to consider the possibility of organizing training programs and refresher courses in Israel for specialists from Kazakhstan after the situation with the pandemic stabilizes.

Y.Edelstein asked to convey the best wishes to his colleague Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Tsoi and invited him to visit Israel.
