On May 13, 2024, Ambassador Ontalap Onalbayev held a meeting with Mr. Mehrdad Kiai, Iran's National coordinator for the Shanghai cooperation organization.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the participation of the Iranian side in events planned to be held at a high and very high level in Kazakhstan within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
