On December 26, 2023, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Askhat Orazbay participated in the 283rd meeting of the ECO Council of Permanent Representatives (CPR), which was held at the ECO Headquarter.

During the meeting various issues on the ECO agenda were discussed and approved, including the Budget of the Organization for 2024.

Also the Council bade a farewell to the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to ECO and Country’s Ambassador to Iran Mr. Askhat Orazbay, who had also served as the ECO Secretary General from 2004 to 2006. The ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri and the members of CPR acknowledged, with thanks, Ambassador Orazbay’s support to ECO’s agenda of regional cooperation during his tenures as Permanent Representative and Secretary General of the Organization.

In his final remarks, Ambassador Askhat Orazbay thanked the ECO Secretary General and the Member States for their kind cooperation and encouragement throughout his affiliation with the Organization.
