Embassy of Kazakhstan to Iran hosted a cultural event dedicated to the Anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Abai
On 23 November 2020 Embassy of Kazakhstan to Iran organized a cultural event on the occasion of the 175th Anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Abai Qunanbaiuly.
The event was attended by spouses of foreign ambassadors and heads of international organizations as well as overseas diplomats residing in the Islamic Republic.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Iran Askhat Orazbay in his welcoming speech
noted that the poet Abai had always sincerely wished his people progress, development and prosperity, and by persistently promoting this idea, constantly called upon his compatriots to science and education.
During the event poems and songs of Abai were performed by a doctorate student of the Tehran University Roya Azadi and correspondent of “Pars Today” informational agency Gaukhar Omarkhanova who read the poet’s prose in Farsi.The choir comprised of the staff of the Embassy performed Abai’ssong “Kozimin Qarasy”.
Along with that there was delivered a message of the translator of the epic novel “A way of Abai” in Farsi Nazeli Askarzade, devoted to the Abai’s personality and work.
Besides that an exhibition of books and materials on the Abai’s heritage and the development of Kazakhstan was organized.
The guests were also treated with various dishes of the Kazakh national cuisine.
