About the international online Forum on the legacy of al-Farabi

      On October 19, 2020 Nur-Sultan hosted an international online Forum titled "Consonance of Civilizations on the Silk Road" dedicated to 1150th anniversary of the great thinker and scientist Abu Nasyr al-Farabi. The event was held as a joint initiative of Kazakhstan and Iran.  

     The Forum was participated by the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Kusherbayev who delivered a speech during its opening, as well as a number of Kazakhstani ministers and scientists also attended the event.

     From the Iranian side, the Minister of Science, Technology and Research of Iran M. Golami and the President of the Iranian Academy of Sciences who is the famous scientist-farabist Dr. R. Davari Ardakani took part in the event and made their statements.

      Among other foreign participants of the Forum there were the leaders of international organizations such as UNESCO, ICESCO, IRSICA, TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy, Secretary General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO H. Ayubi, heads of foreign academies of sciences, rectors of national universities, as well as famous farabist scientists from Azerbaijan, Greece, India, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, France, Uzbekistan and other countries.

     The rector of KazNU G. Mutanov moderated one section of the Forum from the Kazakh side, while the other section was moderated by the Secretary General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO H. Ayubi.

      The Forum participants and scientists noted the importance of Farabi's legacy in building a fair and happy society for all mankind.
