Development of energy interaction between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed in Tashkent

Tashkent, August 1, 2024 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Atamkulov met with the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zh. Mirzamakhmudov.

During the meeting, the sides positively assessed the dynamics and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. It was noted that cooperation in the field of oil and gas supply and transit is proceeding in accordance with the agreements reached and in due time.

The established close cooperation in the electric power industry, in terms of power flows during peak periods, was especially emphasized, which indicates a high level of mutual trust and coordination.

They also considered the trilateral measures being taken on the Kambarata HPP-1 construction project, which is an important stage for ensuring sustainable development and stability of the region.

As a result of the meeting the readiness for further interaction and strengthening of bilateral relations in the energy sector was confirmed.
