The Delegation of Kazakhstan participated in the meeting of the Committee of experts on the operation of the European conventions on cooperation in criminal matters

Strasbourg, November 13, 2024 - A meeting of the Committee of experts on the operation of the European conventions on cooperation in criminal matters was held in the Council of Europe. The representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Strasbourg participated in above-mentioned meeting.

In the framework of the meeting the issue of accession of Kazakhstan to the Convention of the Council of Europe on mutual legal assistance was considered.

The representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office presented detailed information about the reforms carried out in Kazakhstan, as well as cooperation with the Council of Europe. Additionally bilateral co-operation of our country on legal assistance was discussed.

Following the meeting, the Committee will adopt an official position on Kazakhstan's application for accession to the Convention on mutual legal assistance.

Accession to the mentioned Convention of the Council of Europe will create a solid legal basis for the fulfilment of Kazakhstan's requests in Europe.
