Delegation of Singapore visits Nur-Sultan on February 3-4, 2020

The visit is a part of high-level dialogue and is arranged to maintain close contacts and determine prospects for further bilateral cooperation. The importance of current visit is that it allows to reinforce high-level contacts on the economic track after the changes in the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan that took place in 2019. It should be noted that solid foundation of bilateral relations was laid down at the dawn of Kazakhstan’s independence due to close and sincere friendship between the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and the founding Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew.

 

While in Nur-Sultan Dr Koh Poh Koon will meet with Mr. Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Askar Zhumagaliyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Marat Beketayev, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kairat Kelimbetov, Head of the AIFC.

 

During the meetings a number of strategic issues and projects are to be discussed, including FTA signing, projects in the fields of construction and infrastructure, innovation and commercialization of technologies, digitalization, development of transport, logistics and transit potential of Kazakhstan, protection of intellectual property.
