The Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Held a Reception on the Occasion of Republic Day

Riyadh, November 3, 2024 – The solemn event on the occasion of Republic Day of Kazakhstan was held at the Cultural Palace of Riyadh. It was attended by officials, deputies of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, Heads and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and state bodies of the Kingdom, the Muslim World League, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Ambassadors, and diplomats of foreign countries, permanent representatives of international organizations in Riyadh and Jeddah, intellectuals and the media, as well as prominent public and political figures.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan M. Menilbekov informed on the state and historical importance of the Republic Day of Kazakhstan and noted the main achievements of the country throughout sovereignty.

Ambassador paid particular attention to the socio-economic and political reforms of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev and his international initiatives, which received broad support from the world community.

He noted the dynamic development of relations between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, which has gained momentum last years after visits of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Saudi Arabia, and his talks with HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Kazakh Embassy demonstrated a short documentary film and organized a photo exhibition on the achievements of Kazakhstan during the years of sovereignty.

Throughout the event, Embassy organized an ethnographic exhibition with a demonstration of the Kazakh yurt and national products of applied art of nomads, which allowed guests to immerse themselves in the culture of the Kazakh people and taste the dishes of the national cuisine. All treats consisted exclusively of Kazakh national foods, including horse meat delicacies, Kurt, Irimshik, and confectionery products of domestic manufacturers.

The concert of the Philharmonic Ensemble named after K. Azirbaev, which came specially from Kazakhstan to support the Embassy’s cultural event, became the highlight of the evening. The artists presented the works of famous Kazakh composers and national folklore to the public. The guests highly appreciated the reception organization and were delighted with the national costumes, the abundance of Kazakh national foods, culture, and creativity.

At the reception, the company «Air Astana» offered tickets on the routes Jeddah-Shymkent and Almaty-Medina as a promotional giveaway, with the aim of raising awareness of Kazakhstan's tourism potential and the development of the wider tourism industry.

Following the event, well-known public and political figures of Saudi Arabia and guests expressed their heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes to the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion of Republic Day.
