Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia intend to strengthen cooperation in the field of preserving the cultural heritage of the two peoples

On December 25, 2023, H.E. Mr. Berik Aryn, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia, met with H.E. Dr. Jasir Al-Harbash, the CEO of the Heritage Commission of the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of preserving cultural heritage, including the possibility of conducting joint research, archaeological excavations, participation in various exhibitions and festivals dedicated to folk crafts held in the two countries.

In this context, the they shared information about government programs being implemented in the two countries to recreate historical, cultural, architectural monuments, conduct scientific research on the study of cultural heritage, and publish scientific essays on history, culture, national creativity and craft.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish cooperation between the relevant government agencies and research centers of the two countries to exchange experience and conduct joint research.

Heritage Commission is responsible for the development and preservation of cultural, historical and ethnographic heritage, protection, conservation and effective management of cultural values and archaeological monuments. The Commission is also responsible for organizing and conducting local cultural events.
