Statement of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry on the Arab Coalition’s announcement to declare a ceasefire in Yemen

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan welcomes the initiative of the Arab Coalition on a two-week unilateral ceasefire in the Republic of Yemen, which entered into force from April 9, 2020.

We express hope that this decision will enable the Yemeni people to confront consequences of the spread of COVID-19, and be an important step towards establishing the necessary conditions for a permanent ceasefire and resuming negotiations on the comprehensive political settlement of the crisis in Yemen.
