The Ambassador of Kazakhstan held a meeting with the Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media of Saudi Arabia

On March 13, 2022, H.E. Mr. Berik Aryn, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia, met with H.E. Dr. Majid Al Qasabi, the Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the ways of further development of bilateral cooperation in the information, trade, and economic spheres.

The parties, noting the importance of establishing cooperation in the field of information, expressed their interest in establishing close contacts between the governmental entities and agencies of the two countries and exchanging experience in the information technology area.

They also discussed issues of expanding cooperation in the field of trade, economy, tourism, logistics, etc. In this context, the parties noted that the level of mutual trade does not correspond to the potential of the two largest economies of Central Asia and the Middle East. Thereby, they agreed to strengthen efforts to that end.

The Ambassador also informed the Saudi Minister on the current political and socio-economic transformations in Kazakhstan and the measures taken by the government to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve the welfare of the population.

Minister Majid Al Qasabi confirmed the interest of the Saudi side in building up trade and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan and expressed readiness to provide all possible assistance to initiatives and proposals in this direction.
