The “ABAI” Anniversary Medals were awarded in Riyadh

On February 16, 2021, H.E. Mr. Berik Aryn, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia, met with Dr. Yahya Mahmoud bin Junaid, the Head of the Saudi Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge (CRIK), and scientists of this Center.

During the meeting, Ambassador Berik Aryn presented the “ABAI” Anniversary Medals to Dr. Yahya Mahmoud bin Junaid and the Head of the Cultural Department of CRIK, Mr. Saleh Zamanan, who awarded by the decision of the special academic council of the “Abai 175 Years” Public Fund, for their contribution to the popularization of the works of the great poet Abai Qunanbaiuly in Saudi Arabia.

The parties also discussed ways to establish direct contacts between the Center and Kazakh research institutes and opportunities to implement joint cultural and scientific projects.

Dr. Yahya Junaid expressed his sincere gratitude to the Kazakh side for this award. He noted that last year’s symposium on the topic “Abai – the great poet of the Kazakh people,” held in the CRIK, was an important event aimed at the rapprochement of the peoples of the two countries and strengthening cultural ties.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue implementing joint informational and educational projects that can contribute to the expansion of cooperation between friendly Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.
