A courtesy visit

On 5 September 2023, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Riga hosted a meeting with the new Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Latvia, Mr Tan Songeng.

During the friendly conversation, the diplomats emphasised the strategic nature of relations between Kazakhstan and China, as well as the progressive development of Kazakh-Chinese relations across the entire spectrum of bilateral interaction.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Timur Primbetov familiarised his Chinese counterpart with the main provisions of the Address of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev "Economic course of fair Kazakhstan", as well as spoke about the current political and socio-economic transformations in Kazakhstan. Tan Songen, for his part, highly appreciated the modernisation processes in Kazakhstan in the light of the implementation of the programme guidelines of the Head of State.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to continue regular contacts through embassies.
