Preparations for the regional business forum in Latvia were discussed

On May 10, 2023 the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Latvia Timur Primbetov held a working meeting in the online format with the General director of the Kazakhstan Union of Transport Workers "KAZLOGISTICS" Erlan Absatov and Aizhan Beiseyeva, Advisor on the development of transport corridors of the USAID Trade Program in Central Asia.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss preparations for regional business forums with the participation of representatives of transport industry and business communities from the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries, scheduled for June 2023 in Latvia and Lithuania.

Agreements on the organization and holding of the events were reached during the study visit to Latvia and Lithuania in February of this year of the delegation of Kazakhstan consisting of the management and representatives of "KAZLOGISTICS", the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission "TRACECA" and the USAID Trade in Central Asia Program.

During the forthcoming business forum in Latvia scheduled for 12-13 June 2023 the Latvian colleagues will be introduced to the trade and transport-logistics opportunities of Central Asia region, discussed the establishment of regional ties with the Baltic countries to develop international road freight and multimodal transport along the Trans-Caspian international transport route as well as the prospects for expanding cooperation in the transit-transport and logistics sphere on a bilateral level. 

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to continue regular contacts and exchange of information in order to work through organizational and substantive issues of the forthcoming business forum in Riga.
