Multifaceted cooperation

On April 24, 2023, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Latvia with a delegation of the Republican State Enterprise "Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology" of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Technical Committee-100 for organic products.

The Kazakh delegation arrived in Latvia at the invitation of the European Commission within the framework of the TAIEX INTPA program to take specialized courses on the development of a certification system for organic products. The courses are conducted by the Latvian Food and Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Latvia.

During their stay in Riga, Kazakh experts will get acquainted with the activities of Latvian state structures and organizations in the field of regulation and certification of organic products, such as: The Latvian Association of Organic Agriculture, the Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and the Environment “Bior”, LLC “Certification Center and testing." Also, the delegation will visit a number of specialized scientific laboratories in Latvia.

The visit of the delegation will serve to establish relations and exchange experience with Latvian colleagues in order to build mutually beneficial cooperation in order to promote Kazakhstani certified products on the European market.
