Nauryz holiday was celebrated with special warmth in Latvia

This year, the celebration of Nauryz in Latvia took place in the Kazakh cultural center "Saule" in the city of Jelgava, which for many years has been headed by our compatriot Ainur Dabulova.

The bright holiday of Nauryz this time united not only Kazakhstanis living in Latvia, but also representatives of the Uzbek, Uighur and Bashkir diasporas, and of course, Latvian friends.

Traditionally, all guests of the holiday were greeted with the words “ Көктем туды!”, since Nauryz symbolizes the onset of the long-awaited spring, the renewal of nature and man, friendship and love.

The participants of the event were introduced to the traditions and customs of the Kazakh people, dances and songs, national costumes. A rich dastarkhan (festive table) of traditional Kazakh dishes was served.

The celebration of Nauryz was not without national games, competitions and contests. A flash mob was organized to the Kazakh folk song "Kamazhai".

In addition, a photo exhibition of tourist attractions of our country called “My Sunny Kazakhstan” was presented at the Saule Center.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Latvia expresses gratitude for the organization and holding of the event to the Kazakh Cultural Center "Saule", the "Public Cultural Center" in Jelgava and the NGO "Zemgale".

For active work on the popularization of Kazakh culture in Latvia, as well as the establishment of friendly relations between the two countries, A. Dabulova was awarded a Gratitude Letter from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Latvia.
