To the 150th anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynov

Riga, September 9, 2022 - The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Latvia hosted a meeting with students from Kazakhstan studying in higher educational institutions of Latvia, which was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh educator, linguist, literary critic, poet and publicist, prominent public activist Akhmet Baitursynov.

Director of the Academic Library of the University of Latvia, Doctor of Philology Venta Kocere, Head of the International Department of the Riga Technical University Natalia Muracheva and Professor of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov Jamaladen Ibragimov were also invited to the meeting at the Embassy.

The diplomats of the Embassy spoke in detail about the main stages of the life and work of Akhmet Baitursynov, his creative heritage. A documentary film was shown on the contribution of Akhmet Baitursynov to the development of the Kazakh language and literature.

At the end of the event, the participants thanked for organizing the meeting and popularizing the national culture abroad on the example of an outstanding personality like Akhmet Baitursynov.
