Prospects for Kazakhstan’s cooperation within the framework of the European Border Management Programme in Central Asia “BOMCA” were discussed

On March 15, 2022, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Latvia hosted a meeting between Ambassador Timur Primbetov and Deputy Project Leader of the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA), Phase 10, Vladimir Zaguzovs.

During the meeting, V. Zaguzovs informed in detail about the implementation of the 10th phase of the Programme, the results of the activities for the previous period, and also spoke about the events planned for this year.

V. Zaguzovs highly appreciated the participation of Kazakhstan in the implementation of the “BOMCA” Programme, noting the high professionalism and well-coordinated work of employees of Kazakhstani departments participating in this Programme.

The “BOMCA” Programme is one of the largest EU programmes in Central Asia. The Programme is implemented by a consortium of border management agencies of EU member states and the International Center for Migration Policy Development. The consortium is currently headed by the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia. The 10th phase of the Programme, which started in April 2021, expanded the thematic areas, while maintaining a geographical coverage that includes all five countries of Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
