Due to the cancellation of a number of epidemiological safety measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 infection, the conditions for entry into the territory of the Republic of Latvia have been changed by the decision of the Government.
From March 1, 2022, a justified reason is no longer required to enter Latvia.
The requirements for filling out an electronic entry form on the covidpass.lv website and observing self-isolation after entering the country have been cancelled.
At the same time, the requirement for an EU-recognised certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or a past disease, or a negative test result for COVID-19, which must be in the language of the country of departure or in English and provided in printed or electronic form remain the same.
In addition, the previously provided exceptions remain in force in cases where an EU-recognised certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 or a previous disease, or a negative test result for COVID-19 is not required for entry, including for children under 12 years of age.
Detailed information is contained in the Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 662 “Epidemiological safety measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 infection” https://www.sam.gov.lv/lv/jaunumi.
Please note that to date, 35 third countries have joined the EU COVID-19 digital certificate system based on EU equivalence decisions.
COVID-19 certificates issued in these countries are accepted in the EU under the same conditions as the EU digital COVID-19 certificate.
