Screening of a documentary film about the January events

Riga, February 24, 2022 - The Embassy of Kazakhstan hosted a screening of a documentary film prepared by the Khabar Agency about the tragic January events in Kazakhstan, to which representatives of the diaspora and activists of Kazakhstani students studying in Latvia were invited.

Before the screening of the film, Embassy diplomats commented on the chronology of the January events, noting that Kazakhstan was facing a well-planned hybrid attack aimed at destabilizing the situation and seizing power. Thanks to the decisive and timely actions of the country's leadership, it was possible to quickly bring the situation under control and restore constitutional order.

Currently, on behalf of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan are conducting a comprehensive and objective investigation, the results of which will be made public. The participants of the event were also briefly informed about the tasks of the new Government in implementing economic reforms and solving urgent social problems.
