Meeting with the management of the Port of Ventspils

Riga, September 30, 2021 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan Timur Primbetov met with the Manager of the Free Port of Ventspils Andris Purmalis.

The Free Port of Ventspils is one of the largest ice-free ports in the Baltic region. It is a leader in Latvia in sea port operations with bulk cargo, as well as in the implementation of ferry services.

During the meeting, the parties confirmed the important role of transport and transit in the development of mutually beneficial Kazakh-Latvian trade and economic cooperation and exchanged views on the situation in this area.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan welcomed the intention of the port management to take part in the International Transport Exhibition «Transport and Logistics 2021», which will be held on October 13-15, 2021 in Almaty and confirmed the readiness of the Embassy to provide comprehensive assistance in organizing this trip.

In addition, the meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Embassy and the Port of Ventspils in the framework of the implementation of cultural and humanitarian projects on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
