Prospects for cooperation with the Latvian publishing holding "SIA Mediju nams" were discussed

On 31 March 2021, Ambassador T. Primbetov met with the Chairman of the Board of the Latvian publishing holding company "SIA Mediju nams" Nauris Kapostins at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Latvia.

"SIA Mediju nams" publishes the daily social and political newspaper "Neatkariga Rita Avize" (Independent Morning Newspaper), which is published in print and electronic formats in Latvian and English. In addition, the publishing holding publishes the popular magazines "Maja" (Home), "Vakara zinas" (Evening News) and others.

The meeting was also attended by a journalist and columnist of the newspaper "Neatkariga Rita Avize" Ritums Rosenbergs.

The Latvian interlocutors were introduced to the main achievements of Kazakhstan over 30 years of Independence in the political, economic and social spheres, the most important international initiatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Special attention was paid to the coverage of political and socio-economic reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

As a result of the meeting, a mutual interest in establishing close cooperation between the Embassy and the publishing holding was expressed. In particular, an agreement was reached on the preparation and publication of articles dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as bilateral Kazakh-Latvian relations.
