In order to control and prevent the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, the "Traveller Registration Control Information System (IECIS)" will be introduced in Latvia from 12 October 2020. The system provides an electronic questionnaire on a specialized website "Covidpass.lv" for all citizens crossing the border of the Republic of Latvia.
Filling in the electronic questionnaire is mandatory. The questionnaire must be completed not earlier than 48 hours before crossing the border of the Republic of Latvia. The person who fills in the questionnaire receives a QR code, which must be submitted to the border control service when entering the country.
The questionnaire should contain the following information: first and last name, personal identification code (for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan - IIN), address of residence in Latvia, mobile phone number, as well as countries visited during the last 14 days.
The data provided in the questionnaire is automatically transferred to the law enforcement and medical services of Latvia - the State Police, the State Border Guard Service and the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. Personal data is stored for 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted.
