Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academician of the Russian Academy of Social Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, academician and president of the Academy of Political Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, president of the Association of Sociologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Union of Sociologists of Turkic-speaking countries. Author of the monographs “Regional Research in the USSR” in English (London, 1988), “Non-productive activity of the urban population in the USSR” in English (London, 1989), “Man. Region.
