Kazakhstan–Czech Energy Partnership Reaches a New Level

Prague, 14 October 2025 – A delegation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Vice Minister Sungat Yessimkhanov, paid a working visit to the Czech Republic.

The visit included a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of state authorities and industrial enterprises of the Czech Republic. In particular, Vice Minister Yessimkhanov met with Martin Frélich, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, to discuss prospects for cooperation in modernizing energy infrastructure, implementing energy-efficient solutions, facilitating technology transfer, and localizing joint production.

During meetings with representatives of the Czech Export Bank, the parties reviewed opportunities for utilizing financial instruments to support the implementation of joint investment projects.

Special attention was given to the practical aspects of cooperation between Kazakh and Czech enterprises. The delegation’s program included visits to leading Czech industrial sites – the Tusimice Power Plant, DOOSAN Škoda Power in Plzeň, and the ZVVZ plant in Milevsko – where participants were introduced to advanced engineering solutions and technologies in turbine manufacturing and energy engineering.

A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Czech company ZVVZ Engineering, aimed at fostering cooperation in industrial ventilation, energy efficiency, environmental technologies, and production localization in Kazakhstan.

The working visit confirmed the strong mutual interest of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic in expanding their partnership in the fields of energy and industrial cooperation, opening new opportunities for the development of sustainable collaboration in these areas.
