On lifting restrictions on entry to Kazakhstan

On February 7, 2022, the Protocol of the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on preventing the emergence and spread of coronavirus infection in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the updated Procedure for crossing the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period of quarantine restrictions.

In accordance with the changes made, from February 7, 2022, all citizens of Canada are allowed to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan through the international airports of Kazakhstan only under the following conditions:

  • compliance with visa requirements (a visa is not required for citizens of Canada whose stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan does not exceed 30 calendar days);
  • availability of a PCR certificate with a negative test result for COVID-19 (the certificate is considered valid for 72 hours from the date of collection of the material until the moment of crossing the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan), with the exception of children under 5 years old.

The permission of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for citizens of Canada is no longer required.
