The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico got acquainted with the course of political and democratic reforms in our country, initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The important practical role of Kazakhstan on the global arena was also emphasized. In this context, José Octavio Tripp Villanueva took with interest the initiative of the forthcoming Astana International Forum.

The interlocutors stressed that the opening of the Embassy of Mexico in Kazakhstan this year, in accordance with the decision of the Mexican government, will undoubtedly give a significant impetus to the interaction between the two countries.

In this regard, during the meeting, the prospects for bilateral cooperation were considered. In particular, Kazakh and Mexican diplomats agreed that there is good potential for expanding trade, economic and investment ties. Olzhas Issabekov drew attention to the unique conditions provided by our country for foreign investors, which make it possible to effectively conduct business with a focus not only on Kazakhstan, but also on the largest Eurasian markets.

The parties also agreed on joint efforts to expand the bilateral legal framework between Kazakhstan and Mexico. At the moment, the draft agreements in the legal and cultural spheres are being considered. In addition, the interlocutors noted existing prospects for cooperation in the field of education and foreign policy research.

As a result of the meeting, the mutual disposition for substantive work on the development of the entire spectrum of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mexico was confirmed.
